The best day tours from Cape Reinga at the tip of the North Island to Milford Sounds at the edge of the South Island. New Zealand is home to some amazing places and thrilling activities, a lot of which you can see and do in just a day. I often don’t feel like I can devote more than a day to seeing a particular place and doing touristy activities, so it’s nice to know that there are plenty of options for great day trips. Here, I’ve tried to pick out the best of them – at least in my opinion. If you are in Auckland, which most of us are at some point, one of the great surprises for me and my friends on the list was the Auckland Whales and Dolphins Safari, because we didn’t expect to be able to see something so amazing and wild as dolphins and whales so close to the centre of the city. We’re pretty lucky here in New Zealand – there’s lots to discover wherever you are in the country.
